Climate change is simple: the earth retains more of the sun’s heat. Which has to do something. Hence: the climate, changes.
How much? One uncomfortable metric is Hiroshimas-per-second. The “extra” energy is now 13 Hiroshimas-per-second, and rising.
Or roughly every human running 55 hairdryers, 24/7. Or 28,800 Hurricane Katrinas per hour. Ow.

Clean energy means a lot less mining. Despite the stories.
Obvious, really: oil, gas and coal come from below. Minerals for the energy transition do too, but in smaller quantities. Bonus: rather than just incinerating the planet’s crust, you can reuse it.
