BMW ignores laws of physics, announces hydrogen car

It’s thermodynamics babe. Hydrogen: 5x less efficient than batteries. A pain to produce, move and store. Plus there aren’t any filling stations. And it’s super expensive. And dangerous.
Aren’t Toyata doing this? Yup. Sold a wopping 172 hydrogen cars in US, Q1 😂. Awful reviews (Donut).

Where are the hurricanes we were promised?

What? Warm seas this summer led to predictions of 23 tropical storms & 11 hurricanes. So far, it’s 5 and 3. None at all in August.

One thing to worry about

African Migration.

In 2022, 7.4m Africans fled their homes because of the effects of climate change. By mid-century, this could reach 100m. (The Telegraph).

Where will they go?

One thing to be optimistic about

The Arab world’s first nuke was completed in the UAE this week (AFP).

Four reactors, 4.5GWe, in 13 years, for $25bn. Half the time & cost of Western projects.

What does it replace? Oil and gas. Now being… exported 🤔.
